Tasting notes
This Lecciana presents aromas between green and ripe, with the green notes prevailing. It is reminiscent of green apple, freshly cut grass, banana and green nuts. On the palate it enters sweet, followed by gentle hints of bitterness and pungency. The aftertaste is banana and toasted almond.
Pairing
Ideal paired with fresh cheeses, cherry tomato salads, yogurt or fruit. It can also be used for preparing sauces.
Lecciana is a new-generation variety, designed for super-intensive cultivation. It was born from a study at the University of Bari, from a cross between the Arbosana and Leccino varieties. It came to broaden the range of aromas available from hedgerow olive groves. I love bringing it out at tastings so people can discover there is a world beyond conventional varieties.
Know every detail

Lecciana is a variety that almost nobody in Spain knows about. It was born in 1998 in a genetic improvement programme by Agromillora and the University of Bari, crossing Italian Leccino with Spanish Arbosana. The result is an olive with the aromatic elegance of Italy and the productive adaptability of our Spanish varieties. Oiltopia cultivates it in super-intensive groves along the Guadalquivir and mills it with the utmost care.
It is a variety grown in Spain, Portugal, Australia, Chile and the United States, but finding a single-variety Lecciana in a Spanish oleoteca (olive oil boutique) is rare. An EVOO for anyone who wants to be pleasantly surprised.
A variety that almost nobody knows, cultivated in Cordoba, with a profile that doesn't fit any known category. We selected it for our curious customers -- those who have already tried many traditional varieties and want to discover something new. Mercedes describes it as 'a pleasant surprise you don't see coming.'

Extra virgin olive oil is a fresh product. Its quality depends on proper storage and consuming it within its optimal date. If an online shop does not tell you which lot it will ship or when it expires, you have no way of knowing if what you receive is from this harvest or two years ago.
Be wary of shops that do not publish this information. We show it because we believe you have the right to know exactly what you are buying.

Me encanta!! Lo recomiendo totalmente
Me encanta!! Lo recomiendo totalmente. Viene muy bien embalado, y con una presentación bonita
It is a controlled cross between the Italian Leccino and the Spanish Arbosana, developed in 1998 at the University of Bari in collaboration with Agromillora. It combines Italian aromatic quality with the productivity of Spanish varieties. It adapts to super-intensive cultivation and is grown in Spain, Portugal, Australia, Chile and the United States.
It is versatile, but where it truly shines is in raw use. Its mild profile with a hint of pungency makes it ideal for fish, salads and cheeses. For high-temperature cooking, there are more stable varieties.
