Everything behind the numbers — the varietal, the estate, the milling, and how to taste it.

This Arbequina does not come from Catalonia or Aragon, where everyone expects the variety to originate. It comes from super-intensive olive groves along the Guadalquivir, harvested in October while the olives are still green and milled within the first hours. Its location gives it a distinctive profile: the Guadalquivir basin produces Arbequinas with nuances you won't find in the northern Mediterranean.

It is a complex, sweet oil with no rough edges, produced with complete vertical integration. The kind of Arbequina that proves controlling the entire chain -- from grove to bottle -- makes all the difference, and that the type of cultivation does not determine quality.

La arbequina de Oiltopía es dulce, compleja y elegante, con esa papilla de frutas en boca que aparece rápidamente y un gusto final almendrado que la hace muy agradable. Lo que me gusta de este AOVE es que enamora a todos los públicos, incluso a aquellos que buscan aromas más intensos.

Where does this Arbequina come from?
From Villa del Rio, Cordoba. Not from Catalonia or Aragon. Arbequina adapts well to different climates, and in the Guadalquivir basin it can develop a profile with a gentle hint of pungency at the finish.
