Parqueoliva Serie Oro is the flagship coupage of Almazaras de la Subbetica, the cooperative in Carcabuey that also produces Rincon de la Subbetica. Hojiblanca and Picudo, both protected by the PDO Priego de Cordoba -- one of the most demanding designations of origin in Spain. Only olives from Carcabuey, Priego de Cordoba, Fuente Tojar and Almedinilla are admitted.

A coupage is a flavour design: combining varieties to achieve something that none could deliver alone. Here the Hojiblanca provides structure and character, while the Picuda adds elegant sweetness. Olive trees in a continental Mediterranean climate, harvested between October and November. The assemblage has been refined for over two decades.

More than 300 international awards since 2000. First prize at the 19th Provincial Quality Competition of the Diputacion de Cordoba, Green Fruity category. A constant presence in the world's TOP 10 rankings for more than 20 years. Few oils in Spain can boast such a long and consistent track record.

Parqueoliva Serie Oro es un coupage de dos variedades con carácter, Hojiblanca y Picudo, amparado por la DOP Priego de Córdoba, y está muy bien ensamblado. Las notas de canónigos y verduras de hoja ancha con el tomate rojo de fondo crean un perfil que uso mucho para explicar en las catas que un coupage bien realizado puede ser tan expresivo, o más, que un monovarietal.

What is a coupage?
It is a blend of two or more olive varieties. The varieties can be processed separately and the oils assembled afterwards. Or the different olive varieties can be harvested together in what is known as a natural coupage.
What is the difference between Parqueoliva Serie Oro and Rincon de la Subbetica?
Parqueoliva Serie Oro is a coupage (variety blend), more balanced and versatile. Rincon de la Subbetica is an organic Hojiblanca single-variety oil, more intense and complex. Both come from the same cooperative and both hold PDO Priego de Cordoba, but their flavour profiles are very different.
Is more than 300 awards real?
Yes. Parqueoliva Serie Oro has accumulated more than 300 international awards since 2000. That is 25 consecutive years of recognition at competitions around the world.
What type of cooking does it work best for?
It is a very versatile oil. Raw, it is perfect for salads, grilled vegetables, pasta, fish and white meats. Its balance also makes it useful in marinades and sauces where you want a peppery touch.
